Guidelines for publishing on DTU websites

On 6 February 1997, DTU's management decided that the following rules apply (updated in relation to new names and designations by Tine Kjær Hassager/September 2009)

General rules

  1. Commercial use is prohibited
  2. The content must not violate Danish law.
  3. Copyright rules must be observed
  4. Personal data must be handled in accordance with the Danish Register Act and GDPR
  5. DTU's reputation must not be harmed by the published information.
  6. The content must be sober, no material must be published that may be recruiting or generally offensive.
  7. Undue load on the computer systems, including disc consumption and network traffic, must not occur without prior agreement with the local system manager and possibly the person responsible for the DTU network.
Page labelling

Every www page must be labelled with the author's name and email address and the date of the most recent change.

DTU's official www information

Only official DTU information must carry the DTU logo. The appendix below lists who can publish official DTU information.

Responsibilities and sanctions
  1. Each author is personally responsible for ensuring that the rules mentioned in this document are observed for their own published web pages.
  2. Everyone is obliged to follow the rules and restrictions that apply to the publication of web-based information via DTU's systems. The rules in force at any given time are displayed on DTU's official www pages.
  3. If there is any doubt in connection with the design or content of a www page, DTU's communication unit will make the initial assessment of the case.
  4. Violation of the rules for publishing www information may be sanctioned by DTU in accordance with the rules for DTU's computer security policy.
APPENDIX: Official DTU information

The bodies, units and elected leaders mentioned in DTU's statutes (cf. the alphabetical list below) may generally publish official DTU information (this also applies specifically to www-based information).
